Why get stressed out?

Posted by gillian under ways to deal with stress

Why do we all get stressed out at times? When do you really feel stress? Where do we usually feel stress?

These are really good questions to ask. We feel stressed out because most of the times we feel fear of not achieving the expections of people or achieving some goals. That’s when we start to feel stress because we keep thinking that we can’t achieve what we hope. Then we start to push ourselves further so that better results can be achieve. Then other poeple comes in and show us their higher expectations from us. Then this make the situation worst. Because the fear within us would start to grow even bigger that finally brings us to some mentally problems.

As for where we feel stress, it’s the usual places like the workplaces and school. At workplace we need to compete with all people to show good performance to get better evaluations and get better promotion. As in school, we compete with friends or school mates to get better grades and completing projects with better scores. Such places usually bring more stress to people than anywhere else. These are places where you have to keep up with everybody else pace. Every moment you halt to rest, others overtake you and you got shove to the corner. Competions just don’t stop at this places. That’s why it’s always tense and tiring to go to work or school. You’ll have your boss or teachers at your tail showering you with all the expectations or work to be done.

That’s when we hope to do better to stay on track with others. And then the fear of losing to others build up in ourselves and eventually it becomes stress. So, we should take some time to free ourselves from everything, work and homework, and just have a good sleep or a stroll at the garden to relieve the stress build within us. When you finally feel the burden off your shoulders, things will feel better even at the worst condition.

These are some way to deal and cope with stress.
