How are you going to Handle The Holidays?
Just look at the calendar - it is almost Christmas. Have you finished your gift shopping? Have you been to all the parties being held? Are you dragging your tracks out yet? Have you maxed out your credit cards yet?
Okay, enough of the stressing situations so you can get back to a normal life. This is the time to start eating nourishing food and doing a little extra exercise to keep your energy level up, not pigging out and getting lazy about your routine.
There are some ways to reduce stress during this time of activity.
Say no to that which will cause more stress. It is not necessary to do everything asked of you. It is your time, so it is up to you to decide what will benefit you and keep your family happy. Saying no can create freedom from stress.
As we all know, what you think about is what you get, so remember to think pleasing thoughts and how you want the holidays to turn out rather than worrying about everything you will be required to do. Positive thoughts and visualization about pleasant holidays will lead to a more pleasant reality.
Don’t forget to take time for yourself instead of always taking care of others. Burning the candle at both ends only leads to exhaustion and burn out. It may be helpful to burn a pleasantly scented candle, do something for yourself, stretch out in a hot bath with a glass of your favorite beverage. Take time out to go to a spa and have a massage.
Don’t eat everything in front of you, you may have to work extra hard to work it off after the holidays. That would lead to even more stress after the holidays. Make a conscious decision to only eat that which you need for daily nourishment.
