What do you mean - food related stress?
My granddaughter has a food allergy which leads to my daughter having food related stress. In other words, she must be very aware of everything my granddaughter eats. This applies not only at home, but everywhere she might eat something. My daughter has had to get and carry an epi-pen so she is always prepared for an event.
These events can be caused by strawberries, or tomatoes or even red (strawberry flavored?) breakfast cereals. It really is stressing to have to watch everything that goes into your child’s mouth, but no RED food is allowed near my granddaughter.
That is easily handled at the grocery store but what about at day care or the babysitter? My daughter must remember to alert anyone who may be taking care of my granddaughter to the possibility of an incident. She can’t go anywhere without the epi-pen and a cell phone in case she must rush back to her daughter to save her life as an incident is life threatening. The alternative is to wind up at the emergency room of the hospital.
This even applies to grandparents.
Do you know how much RED stuff one can have in their house without realizing it? Especially when one has no real reason to think about it.
Well, we no longer have any RED foodstuffs in our home and can rest assured that when our granddaughter visits there will be no cause for concern.
I am sure other children have similar food allergies that few other than medical staff are aware of. And with a lot of our foodstuffs coming from overseas these days, it may become even more challenging as time goes on.
This is one cause of stress that is out of our control when it first happens but the cause can be managed rather than having to manage the stress.
