Can You Control Stress?
Life is what you make of it and entirely based on your specific experiences. These experiences are different from those any other person has had.
Did you realize what happens to you is all determined in your mind? The way you interpret what happens determines your experiences.
You lose your job. This could be the worst thing possible or it could be the opportunity to do something else of more importance. How you choose to interpret what has happened can cause the outcome to be drastically different. Knowing this, you realize the same rules apply even if nothing happened to cause a change. You would still have the same job you’ve had for years and may see it as a dead end and be miserable at the end of every day, or you may see this as a springboard for something better while still employed so you can get where you really want to be. How we see life is how we experience our lives.
It is the thoughts about life we internalize that determine our enjoyment or distaste for the life we are living. The fact is life experiences don’t happen out in the world, but only in our mind which is totally disregarded most of the time. Since how we experience and relate to life really only happens in our mind then it is fairly easy to see why we are so easily upset by our own thoughts.
I came across this video that you might find interesting in managing stress.
If we become aware of our own responsibility for our thoughts and how our mind works we can be freed from stress in our lives. If we recognize that it is up to us to determine if we will be in a bad mood about something and cause ourselves unnecessary stress and grief.
I don’t know it all, look at your own life, when you are upset about something, try to determine what the cause really is. Is it how you see and internalize the situation or is it only the situation? Can you feel about it in a different way? If you can then why not choose to feel better about it instead of feeling bad about it? If that is too difficult then check out Managing Stress naturally.
