Are We Making The Right Choices?

A majority of our stress is caused by our choices.  We choose to react to various situations which can lead to stress for us.  If we instead choose to determine the best route to take then we will have less stress because we aren’t being controlled by the situation.

There is much to be said about our choices and how they either lead us into stress or lead us out of it.

We are always making choices and some of them result in stressStress is not often caused by external forces.  We must look at any stressful situation and determine what choice we made to bring us to that state.

Sometimes we choose to do something because we think it is necessary in order to be who we think others expect.  This is not a good choice because we will be continually guessing at who to be depending on who we are around.

Another choice we make that could cause stress is the priorities we set.  Are our goals and aspirations still what we want?  Has our life changed such that the current goals no longer support our expectations.

What about our values?  Are they important enough to us to affect the choices we make?  They should be!  Then outside forces cannot cause us to make a choice that is detrimental to our mental health.

Do our choices support our physical health, or do they allow us to put other things ahead of ourselves.  If we can’t maintain our physical health then we add more stress to our lives.

    You are so right. It’s how we process stressful situations. Using stress relief techniques can help people make better choices when dealing with stress.
